This is the first book in a series titled Memoirs of an Average Man. I am a 65-year-old white male from Michigan—it doesn't get any more average than that. I've claimed that I wanted to become an author for most of my life, and I eventually got that opportunity about 10 years ago when I bought that newspaper. It was a fulfilling and humbling experience, but it didn't completely scratch the itch; to claim that I am a 'real' author, I felt I had to write a book, and here it is.
